Our mission is to empower each student to find, strengthen, and express their unique voice utilizing our Vocal Performance Lesson technique.

If you are a prospective student, interested in lessons, you are at the right place. Learning to sing is about finding your own voice and being able to express yourself fully through your music -- whatever music you are passionate about. Gina's students sing musical theatre, pop, jazz, and classical music. At the Latimerlo Studio, a strong and thorough foundation of proper physicial technique is combined with interpretation of text and music to lead students to effectively and powerfully communicate through song. Music and the artistic disciplines enable self-knowledge and self-expression through the understanding of and participation in universal human emotion and thought.
Vocal Performance Lessons
The Latimerlo Studio offers vocal and musical interpretation instruction, as well as acting guidance for monologues and auditions.
Lessons are one hour in length and are offered on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Singing students learn proper vocal technique (based on bel canto theory and a "singing as an extention of proper speech" approach) - which includes lessons in posture, breathing, focus, resonance, and diaphragmatic support. Students then learn how to adjust their technique to sing any genre of music in an authentic way -- so pop songs really sound like pop, and classical pieces really sound like classical music.

Students also learn song interpretation, including the creation of characters and the use of acting techniques for musical theatre students, as well as instruction in musical analysis and musical interpretation. Students may also work on full audition preparation if desired. Students additionally learn some of the
fundamentals of music theory, such as reading important symbols on sheet music.
For the pricing of lessons, call or contact Gina Latimerlo. Students are given the chance to perform and attend our Studio's Master Classes (learning-focused recitals), and we send out notices about auditions and performance opportunities monthly. In addition, students receive two written evaluations yearly.

Gina's students can be seen all over the Bay Area and beyond. In addition to innumerable ensemble roles, Gina's musical theatre students have played leads or supporting roles at Broadway by the Bay, both mainstage and young conservatory, Hillbarn Theatre, American Musical Theatre in San Jose, eTc, and most of the local high schools and middle schools. She has also sent two students directly to NY's Broadway, one of which has just booked his third Broadway show. Her pop students have signed with talent agents, made demo recordings, won numerous talent competitions, and have been accepted into the elite Berklee College of Music in Boston.
